Membership

Become a member of River Arts and become part of a vital cultural resource in Lincoln County. Help our nonprofit arts venue continue to grow, bringing a our year-round calendar packed with the best in art. You’ll receive many benefits, but none as great as the reward of actively advancing the arts in our community.  

Individual membership is only $60 per year

Some of the Benefits of Membership include:

1.  Participate in two non-juried members only shows each year

2.  Discounted entry fee for submission to all shows

  • (members pay $15 per show/non-members pay $30 per show)

3.  Reduced tuition for classes and workshops

4.  Allowed 2 pieces of original art in bins (see below for details)

6.  Opportunity to rent the River Room for self designed show

7.  Artist listing on River Arts’ Website

8.  Artwork will be promoted on Facebook and Instagram.  All shows are well promoted in numerous publications throughout Maine.

Bin Work: Active members may submit up to 2 pieces of original art to be displayed in the bins.
(Giclees or other reproductions are not permitted.)
• The maximum allowed size is 24” x 24”.
• Each piece must be neat and professional in appearance.
• Work on paper should be matted. Canvas on stretchers is not permitted.
• Work must be shrink-wrapped or enclosed in a clear envelope.
• Work must be labeled with title, price, medium, and artist’s full name.
• Commission on bin art is 35%. Artists are paid after gallery shows change: 65%.

Volunteers

Join our team of energetic and dedicated volunteers!  River Arts would not exist if it were not for the dedicated, year round work done by volunteers.  All members should consider how they can participate to keep River Arts thriving.  As River Arts continues to grow, our needs for volunteers has grown as well.

Some of our volunteer opportunities include:

  1. Check in Saturdays:   Help with checking in artwork for all of our shows, Saturdays are very busy and we could use extra help.  Meet the artists and help the gallery!
  2. Receptions:  Help set up and clean up for opening receptions
  3. Exhibitions:  Show installation and de-installation
  4. Events:  Special events set up and greeters
  5. Gallery Staff :  3 hours per week, assist artists with drop off and pick up, help customers make purchases.  Detail oriented volunteers are especially helpful.  Year round staff needed.  Must be comfortable lifting and moving artwork.
  6. General office and computer help
  7. Serve on the Board of Directors

Donations

A non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, River Arts depends upon our membership and donor contributions to provide direct program support and are 100% deductible.
