“The Awakened Eye“
Attending to the wonder of artistic inspiration
Join us for a free talk/meditation with David Peloquin
Thursday, October 22 at 2 pm at River Arts in Damariscotta
There is a perennial thread that runs through artistic traditions, East and West, which the mature artist sees lucidly with an awakened eye that does not rest in the “thinking” self, but rather in a meditative “attending” to the wonder of inspiration. Following opening remarks on this theme, David will introduce attendees to a simple insight meditation that relaxes the thinking mind and opens into a calm, open space of attending to inspiration. Attendees, who wish too, will be invited to share their experiences of the meditation experience.
David Peloquin is a lifetime artist, a drawing instructor, and a professional musician. He has taught Insight Meditation for over 35 years in private sessions, as well as with groups of artists, writers, and musicians.

Please bring one piece of work you would like to introduce to us.
At this first get-together, we’ll go over a few ways to make an art share fun, positive, and helpful. We’ll balance the focus between content and technique and offer tips or suggestions only when asked for.
Deb Claffey (Bristol) will moderate the first meeting. Your input on meeting dates, times, and format will be most welcome!
