Talk and discussion with David Peloquin-
The Nature of Artistic Insight
“There are moments in our lives when we seem to see beyond the usual, become clairvoyant … At such moments, there is a song going on within us to which we listen. …It is the desire to express these songs from within that motivates all masters of art.” Robert Henri (1865–1929)
Artists, writers, musicians, actors, and anyone involved in art making, or who have an interest in the arts, are invited to attend and join in the discussion. The setting will be informal and interactive. Following opening remarks by David Peloquin on The Nature of Artistic Insight, attendees will be invited to participate in an exchange of personal experiences of sudden insight and the desire to express these discoveries in their art.
Peloquin is a lifetime artist, a drawing instructor, and a professional musician.
He has taught Insight Meditation for over 25 years.
Friday, June 19 at 1pm
Watercolor Demo with Mary Ann Heinzen:
This watercolor demonstration will be an exploration of wet into wet technique. By using lots of water, it will allow the colors to flow and blend in unplanned but lovely ways. As the paint starts to dry, a semi representational theme will be developed. At that point, whimsical botanical details, suggested by the colors, values and brushstrokes, can be added. Finally details and values will be added to enhance important areas, helping to organize a strong composition.
